GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:
A Clinical Research Coordinator I position is available within the Department of Radiation Oncology.
The Clinical Research Assistant works under the supervision of the Principal Investigator (PI), to provide support to clinical and translational research studies. A major focus of this research is on how cancer and normal tissue genomics affect the response to radiation therapy using various analytical tools in our whole exome sequencing pipeline. He/she will be responsible for: assisting the PI in drafting research protocols, data entry, management, and analysis, creation and maintenance of clinical databases, preparation of conference presentations and journal publications.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with data abstraction from a variety of sources including patient medical records, and hospital clinical information systems.
- Assist with data analysis and system evaluation.
- Assist with grant progress reports and IRB submissions as needed.

- Organizes, and/or maintains study databases. Responsible for data entry and quality control of data.
- Assists with analysis of genomics data, including whole exome sequencing.
- Performs literature searches as appropriate.
- Assists PI with preparation of slide presentations, poster boards, and research articles.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:
- Ability to work independently and effectively as a member of the team.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues, and to interpret the acceptability of data results.
- Strong and proactive interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants and working as a member of a highly integrated team.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- High degree of computer literacy, including Mac OSX, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint), and Windows OS; fluency in MATLAB and/or R; familiarity & skill with Python; previous coursework using Python or R required.
- Willingness to further develop analytical skillset required including learning new platforms and other analytical databases
- Careful attention to detail.
- Excellent organization skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subjects' rights and individual needs.
