The Department of Radiology and Medical Imaging at the University of Virginia is seeking a highly motivated Clinical Research Coordinator (varying levels) to join our dynamic research team.

The Department has a thriving research environment that supports cutting edge research, including developing advanced imaging tools to address clinical needs. The Clinical Research Coordinator will be involved in research studies using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and biorepository resources in the lab. The incumbent will support these research areas by helping to recruit and screen participants, schedule research visits, manage databases, and perform the regulatory and ethics requirements of such studies. In addition, the incumbent will design data collection sheets, export results for statistical analysis, analyze demographic data for progress reporting, and assist with publication of results.

The Clinical Research Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all regulatory requirements are met and for maintaining the highest levels of quality possible. This position will also assist the Principal Investigator with laboratory and project management.

The successful candidate will have the ability to follow policies and procedures and adhere to regulatory guidelines in daily work. The successful candidate will also have a basic knowledge of clinical research, have the ability to independently research topics, possess a working knowledge of the specific study subject matter, and have knowledge of medical terminology.

In addition, the successful incumbent will demonstrate excellent organizational and management skills, strong oral and written communication in daily interactions, and have the ability to work independently and/or as part of a team.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Clinical Research Coordinator 2, Non-Licensed

Education: Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications.

Experience: At least one year of clinical research experience. Some experience in a healthcare setting and/or knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.

Licensure: None.

Clinical Research Coordinator 3, Non-Licensed

Education: Bachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of experience, education and or certifications.

Experience: Minimum of 3 years of clinical research experience required. Master's degree may substitute for 1 year of clinical research experience.

Licensure: Clinical Research Coordinator (CCRC) and/or Certified Clinical Research Professional (CCRP) is preferred at the time of hire and is required within one year.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare, psychology or a related science.
  • Experience with EPIC and PACS clinical patient systems
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office: Outlook, Word, Access, and Excel.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
