JOB PURPOSE:
Coordinates all emergent add on procedures for all imaging departments. Individual is a resource to the scheduling department or referring physician offices when questions arise about imaging procedures. Educating patients and the staff relative to job function and knowledge.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Two (2) years of administrative/clerical experience.
MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW:
None
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
BLS certified preferred. Graduate of an AMA approved Radiologic Technology program preferred.
Imaging scheduling experience preferred.

Qualifications:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Optimizes daily all modality schedules by being the central point of contact for all add on procedures.
2. Facilitates communications between referring physicians and radiologists.
3. Follows-up with patient to reschedule appointments for those who do not show or cancel appointments.
4. Operates and utilizes the Scheduler Program in the hospital scheduling system
5. Proactively identifies open timeslots and contacts patients and referrers to backfill slots.
6. Builds relationships with referring offices to become central point of contact for immediate appointment availability.
7. Fields referrers special requests for reports, unique protocols, follow-up, etc.
8. Central contact for any technical recalls requested by the radiologist.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
1. Must have a working knowledge of most imaging procedures
2. Must be knowledgeable of patient prep instructions.
3. Must be able to maximize departmental schedules.
4. Must exhibit exemplary customer service via phone.
5. Must have knowledge of Epic scheduling module.
6. Must have basic understanding of accepted insurance plans and pre-authorization requirements at Piedmont.
