Job Description:
  • PURPOSE OF JOB : Under general direction, provides frequent clinical care (triage) of patients contacting the call center; plans and oversees departmental staff clinical activities/training, ensuring patient and customer satisfaction and adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.
In addition to oversight and supervision of the clinical area, the clinical supervisor will maintain competency in all aspects of clinical (non-provider) and Medical Assistant positions and provide coverage when needed due to staffing and office schedule changes.
  • ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :
  • Actively supervises and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals.
  • Promotes patient safety through adherence to protocols, policies, procedures, evidence-based guidelines and OSHA Patient Safety Goals.
  • Assesses, plans, implements, documents, coordinates, and manages patient care according to department and hospital standards and giving consideration to age-specific accommodations.
  • Communicates and collaborates with patients, physicians, family members and other health care disciplines in order to achieve excellence in patient care.
Job Qualifications:
QUALIFICATIONS :
  • Education:
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant program with a current certification or registration.
  • Minimum one year of medical assistant or nursing experience in a primary care environment preferred

  • Supervisory Skills and attentiveness to detail
  • Ability to prioritize duties and delegate skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
  • Knowledge of computer functionality
  • eCW experience preferred
  • Skill in patient triage in person and on the phone
  • Knowledge of chart/medical record documentation requirements and federal/state laws related to release of health care information
