The Johns Hopkins Hospital

Weinberg Intensive Care Unit (WICU) is a 20 bed adolescent/adult surgical intensive care unit. Patient population: Surgical Oncology ICU for gastrointestinal, endocrine, gynecologic, thoracic, plastic, otolaryngology/ head and neck, orthopedic, trauma, and urologic oncologic procedures. This unit is grounded in teamwork as well as Patient and Family Centered Care. The WICU has won the AACN Beacon Award and also recognized by the SCCM for the Family Centered Care Innovation Award.

Shifts: 12 Hour Day Shifts

Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Active Nursing Assistant Certification in Maryland is required
• 1 year of acute care (in-hospital) tech experience within the most recent 2 years is required (EMT or CRT experience may be considered)
• BLS CPR certification required: AHA, Red Cross, or Military Training Network accepted

Clinical Technicians at The Johns Hopkins Hospital have the opportunity to provide highly skilled and compassionate patient- and family-centered care as contributing members of the healthcare team. Ongoing education is provided to all Clinical Technicians to ensure that all techs perform at the highest level of their certification and scope of practice. During your first year, you will have the opportunity to attend eight days of training off the unit, which provide interactive learning activities to support your personal and professional development.
