DESCRIPTION

The RN Clinical Trials Liaison applies skills and experience as an experienced nurse educator to ensure optimal clinician knowledge and skills through education and training in either general or specialized nursing education and / or training. Serves as an instructor for entry or intermediate clinical nurse educators. Leads implementation of new programs.

The roles and responsibilities of the RN Clinical Trials Liaison are as follows:
  • Manages all outpatient clinical trials (80%).
  • Provides RN education/support. Provides Advanced Practice Provider education/support/and outlines order entry in alignment with study requirements.
  • Reviews all protocols and treatment plans. Collaborates with study coordinators, physicians, and outpatient team to ensure all study requirements are complete.
  • Works closely with IDS pharmacist to ensure study is implemented correctly prior to and during infusion stay.
  • Coordinates infusion scheduling with infusion scheduling team
  • Attends all study related meetings.
  • Manages CTO-CTI iReports and develops process improvements/strategies to prevent study deviations
  • May provides patient care coverage with the administration of clinical trial therapies (20%).
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
  • Three (3) or more years of relevant experience in infusion nursing, clinical trials, inpatient oncology, regulatory, and/or process improvement.
  • Registered Nurse in the State of California.
  • BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six (6) months of hire date.
  • Thorough knowledge of delivering clinical nursing education and training material for orientation and skills / competency learning and leadership development.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to provide education, training, and resources and to develop positive working relationships with nursing staff and leadership.
  • Detail oriented, with proven organizational skills to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.
  • Strong skills in written and verbal communications to collaborate productively in a team environment with all levels of internal and external personnel and to convey complex clinical information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Thorough knowledge of a broad spectrum of professional nursing practices and issues.
  • Thorough knowledge of methodology for conducting evidence-based research, data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills to manage multiple levels of information and responsibilities, and to quickly assess moderately-complex problems to develop potential solutions.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Master's degree in Nursing.
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary healthcare setting with experience coordination of care across inpatient and outpatient areas.
  • Previous experience as a clinical educator or clinical instructor.
  • Prior experience working in clinical research or managing clinical trials, preferably in an outpatient setting.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and guidelines governing clinical trials.
  • Process improvement experience.
  • Infusion oncology RN experience.
  • Certificate within area of specialty.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.

Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $101,200 - $192,200 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $48.47 - $92.05

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
