Position Objective:

CDC Data Hub is one stop shop for supporting the acquisition, evaluation, management, and analytics of large healthcare data assets for the agency. It provides operational, data management, technical/engineering, and analytic support along with tooling that enables analytics, visualization, and machine learning on large volumes of complex healthcare data for multiple public health use cases. A dedicated engineering team is needed to develop, enhance, and scale technical capabilities to make effective use of the large healthcare data investments managed by CDC Data Hub in the Enterprise Data Analytics and Visualization (EDAV) platform. These activities are critical to supporting CDC programmatic and response activities

The DMAC CDH Engineering Team is seeking a Cloud Architecture Developer.

As a Cloud Architecture Developer, you'll possess a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, containerization, and networking. You'll make new cloud capabilities available in environments that require standards-compliance and security. You'll be responsible for SMART orchestrator resiliency, functionality, adding unit tests. You will also work on the SMART observability portal (non javascript) to bring more features to UI as needed.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience designing, developing, and deploying event driven applications (eg Azure Functions, AWS Lamdas)
• 3+ years of experience of writing clean, efficient, and well-documented Python code
• 2+ years writing unit testing using PyTest or similar frameworks
• Experience in developing and maintaining azure web applications using Flask or other technologies
• Experience in cloud messaging services (eg Azure Storage Queues, Event Grids, Service Bus)
• Experience using GitHub, Azure DevOps or other source control management tools
• Possession of strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
• HS Diploma or GED

Preferred Qualifications:

• Azure Developer Associate Certificate
• Familiarity with Databricks and Azure Data Factory
• Familiarity with containerization techniques (eg Docker)
• Knowledge of cloud security best practices
