Under the general direction of the Information Technology (IT) Manager I, the IT Specialist II in the Department of General Services, Enterprise Technology Solutions within Cloud Infrastructure Services (CIS), in the System Engineering Domain, functions as a team member and independently performs a variety of IT services within the Cloud Infrastructure Services Section, including the design, implementation, maintenance, monitoring, and administration of the cloud and virtual environments for the Department of General Services (DGS).
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment.

- Completed training in Cloud from an accredited bootcamp training course.
- Certification in cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP is highly preferred.
- Gain practical experience in cloud engineering strategy and tactics.
- Familiar with web services, APIs, IAM (Identity and Access Management), and application deployment.
- Linux Proficiency: Proficient in RedHat or other versions.
- Coding Skills: Understand programming languages like Python, Java, or Scripting skills.
- Networking Knowledge: networking concepts, including virtual networks, subnets, and security groups.
- Security Awareness: Understand cloud security best practices, encryption, and access controls.
- Automation: Familiar with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure as code (IaC).
- Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: strong analytical skills
- Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and security experts.
