Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Cloud Network / Software Engineer to contribute to the development of cutting-edge space capabilities. Based at Kirtland Air Force Base in Albuquerque, NM, you will support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) in architecting and maintaining the RAPID Laboratory. This hybrid multi-cloud environment serves as a critical platform for prototyping next-generation space technologies.

As a Cloud Network / Software Engineer with MTSI, you will join a small, energetic team to build and maintain a high-fidelity cloud environment. The purpose of this environment is to streamline the acquisition process between the stages of Analysis, Prototyping, Enterprise Testing, and Program of Record Transition. This will be accomplished by integrating multiple organizations from each stage of the process into a single facility.

Responsibilities:
As a Cloud Network / Software Engineer with MTSI, you will join a small, energetic team to build and maintain a high-fidelity cloud environment. The purpose of this environment is to streamline the acquisition process between the stages of Analysis, Prototyping, Enterprise Testing, and Program of Record Transition. This will be accomplished by integrating multiple organizations from each stage of the process into a single facility.
As a Cloud Network / Software Engineer, you will be responsible for the following:
- Designing, implementing, and managing cloud-based applications and infrastructure on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform.
- Developing Networking solutions across multi cloud environments with emphasis on underlay and overlay architecture.
- Designing and documenting and integrating network topologies across multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments.
- Supporting the software engineering team with managing SD-WAN nodes via API's.
- Support the software engineering team with gathering metrics using SD-WAN API's.
- Troubleshooting and resolve network issues.
- Automate infrastructure using tools like CDK, and python scripting.
- Ensuring Security and compliance.
- Collaborating with development teams and a National Team of Subject Matter Experts.
- 5 to 10 years' relevant experience as an Network Engineer or Architect.
- Strong understanding of SD-WAN and Cloud integration for the DoD.
- Python expertise and Scripting.
- Experience with troubleshooting and resolving network issues.
- Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work efficiently with small, distributed teams.
- Experience integrating AWS and Microsoft Azure for DoD.
- AWS CDK experience.
- Azure networking, blob storage and functions.
- Administration of the DoD GovCloud and its capabilities and limitations.
- Hands on experience with Gitlab and CI/CD pipelines.
- Data Analysis experience: Reporting, Jupyter Notebooks, Pandas, Power BI.
- Bachelor of Science or higher in Computer Science or related field.
- Active Top Secret (TS) with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
