WHO YOU ARE:
TWC is seeking a Cloud Solutions Architect to join the Applications Solutions (AS) team. In this role you will work in collaboration with the IT team and business customers to provide support for applications and information systems critical to TWC's business operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with cloud computing technologies and current computing trends, fostering team collaboration, and the ability to communicate in a professional, customer-focused manner.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The Cloud Solutions Architect (Systems Analyst VI) performs highly advanced (senior-level) computer systems analysis work. Work involves overseeing the planning and analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing or to improve existing systems. May supervise the work of others. Works under minimal supervision, with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Maintains a reliable, predictable work schedule and be willing to work beyond normal business hours to troubleshoot critical issues not handled by operations teams.

YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
Cloud Solution Development:
-Analyze business requirements from agency stakeholders, including business departments and cybersecurity.
-Develop highly-available public cloud solutions with potential for hybrid-cloud/multi-cloud integrations.
-Provide solutions architecture diagrams, flowcharts, tables, interface maps, dependency maps, and process maps.
-Cloud Rationalization and Deployment:
-Perform cloud rationalization work to facilitate cloud adoption, focusing on reducing dependencies on Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and remote dependencies.
-Suggest improvements to existing applications.
-Assist with major cloud deployments by offering insight, feedback, requirements, and dependencies to project managers.

Leadership and Standards:
-Lead solutions architecture based on approved infrastructure and cybersecurity standards.
-Contribute significantly to the development of standards and application architecture; assist in developing infrastructure architecture.
-Serve in an advisory capacity to leadership, boards, committees, project managers and workgroups.
-Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
-Provide guidance and support for cloud adoption and establish best practices.
-May serve as backup to the director or other managers.
-Contribute to teamwork and maintain an image of IT excellence.

Availability and Support:
-Address technical issues during all phases of the system development life cycle.
-Be willing to work beyond normal business hours to troubleshoot critical issues not handled by operations teams.

YOU ARE A GREAT FIT WITH:
-Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems or related field.
-Five years of experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect with responsibilities overseeing cloud computing technologies and current computing trends.
-Experience with cloud migration of existing applications.
-Experience with one or more of the following: Spring framework, JAVA, JBOSS EAP, HTML 5, SQL, MS SQL Server, DB2.
-Experience with Web Services.
-Experience with Ant, Maven and Gradle.
-Experience with Okta.
-Experience with Entra ID.
-Experience with unit testing tools and frameworks (Junit, Selenium).
-Experience with Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise.
-Experience with LN-Threat Metrix.
-Knowledge of object-oriented programming concepts.
-Demonstrated skills using software/systems development methodologies such as waterfall, iterative, and/or agile sprints; problem-solving; critical thinking; building quality into code; planning and organizing work; meeting due dates.
-Must show initiative and good judgment, ability to function well under pressure, and remain focused on the priorities with other demands.
-Ability to analyze problems, develop solutions, communicate clearly and communicate effectively with technical colleagues and non-technical customers.
-Ability to provide strong technical expertise and share knowledge in a team environment.
-Skill in solving problems; in scheduling, testing, installing, and implementing programs; and in troubleshooting computer software systems.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills to serve as a technical consultant, clearly and accurately document relevant issues, and prepare accurate, concise, reliable reports.
-Knowledge of Texas Workforce Commission programs.
-Industry related certifications are a plus, but not required: such as, AWS Certified Solutions Architect - Professional.

YOU QUALIFY WITH:
-Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major course work in computer science, computer information systems, management information systems, or a related field, plus four years of full-time experience in computer programming, systems analysis, and/or program analysis or four years of full-time experience which provided general knowledge of data processing or systems analysis.
-One year of full-time experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education.
-One year of full-time in-service experience classified as a Systems Analyst V or Programmer VI with regular status will satisfy the minimum qualifications.
