As an Amazon Fleet Remediation Project Design Engineer, you will lead design projects in operational data centers, that remediate issues, upgrade our existing infrastructure or add new services. You will be the 'go to' engineering resource for these projects and will provide lifecycle support from design through implementation. You will use your electrical expertise to:

• \tOwn the design for existing data center upgrades and design-solutions which add data center infrastructure, capacity, improve availability, and/or increase sustainability.

• \tPrepare/review short circuit coordination studies and maintain the software models to martch as-built site conditions.

• \tPerform design and equipment submittal review for Data Centers in your region.

• \tInterface with internal and external data center design engineering team, server hardware team, environmental health and safety team, field engineering, and controls engineering to promote standards that maintain consistency and reliability in services delivered.

• \tWork on concurrent projects, sometimes in multiple geographical regions.

• \tAct as a technical subject matter expert for your given discipline during new remediation projects.

• \tSupport construction, commissioning, operations, and turnover.

• \tPossess Strong Engineering Judgement and are able to provide design and recommendations despite uncertainty

• \tAre detail and data oriented with familiarity with design/construction processes

• \tHave experience managing engineering projects and engineering consultants.

• \tBuild trust and relationships with different stakeholders (e.g., Operations, Commissioning, Construction and Design)

• \tManage design and as built drawings and documents

• \tPrepare and present progress reports to all relevant stakeholders

• \tBe inclined to get into the field to see things up close

Each day you will interact with different teams responsible for all aspects of the data centers. You will prioritize your activities to support data center safety, remediation projects, capacity, and availability, focusing on the actions that are most impactful. You will have the opportunity to work on projects locally and globally.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• \tBachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.

• \t3+ cumulative years of design experience with industrial or commercial engineering in Mission Critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation, oil / gas facilities. (Experienced Engineer)

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• \tAbility to work cross-functionally to solve problems.

• \tOrganized and have the ability to set priorities and meet deadlines and budget

• \tPossess leadership and problem-solving skills

• \tExperience using a variety of web based and other software tools for calculation and data processing.

• \tDirect experience with the design, construction, operation, or maintenance of mission critical facilities, especially data centers.

• \tExperience as resident design engineer or hands-on (in the field) design consultant.

• \tKnowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.

• \tExperience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

• \tAbility to carry design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment/mass production

• \tPossess excellent communication and writing skills, attention to detail, maintain high quality standards

• \tBasic understanding of both mechanical and electrical equipment/design related to data center electrical and mechanical topology

• \tEPMS/SCADA/BMS Controls system experience (software and/or hardware)

• \tRegistered Professional Engineer

• \tAdvanced degree in engineering, business, or related field.

• \tHave fluent knowledge of continuous operating redundant electrical systems, cooling systems, air flow containment and building management systems

• \tMeets/exceeds Amazon's leadership principles requirements for this role

• \tMeets/exceeds Amazon's functional/technical depth and complexity for this role
