Essential Functions

1. Determines proper heat, time and vacuum cycles and set the press controls accordingly. Must know what the different thickness of plastic and the proper baking time of polycarbonate plastic.
2. Places vacuum molds in proper position, reserve molds, or request modifications to molds to obtain acceptable finished parts.
3. Develops a "Helper" shop aid when required to spread material to be formed.
4. Works from blueprints, Zodiac specifications and other written and verbal instructions
5. Sets up and operates automatic double heater vacuum form presses to produce deep drawn parts, must know how to operate the fire torch tank
6. All other duties as assigned.

Employee is expected to follow all safety regulations, keep work area in a clean and orderly condition, and wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required for the assigned work area(s). Performs safety related duties as assigned.

The role involves operating vacuum forming presses, finishing parts, and utilizing measurement tools to maintain strict adherence to specifications. By consistently applying expertise in reading blueprints, handling materials, and performing safety protocols, this position supports the overall production process and ensures that the final product aligns with our standards of excellence. This hands-on role is integral to our commitment to customer satisfaction, quality, and continuous improvement in manufacturing.

Candidate skills & requirements
High School diploma or equivalent required.
• One to three years of related experience required - equivalent education and background may be substituted for experience in some areas.
• Requires a thorough understanding of shop practices and procedures.
• Must be able to read and interpret average to complex blueprints, drawings, diagrams, tolerance information, route sheets, work orders, safety guidelines, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
• Employee must be able to obtain and maintain all required certifications and licenses.
