CHILD NUTRITION PROGRAM ASSISTANT MANAGER - 9 Month (182 Day) Contract

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. High School Graduate or GED Equivalent
  2. Good physical and emotional health including the ability to perform duties described in Essential Functions.
  3. Effective interpersonal communication skills.
  4. Current ServSafe Certification.
  5. Food Service Managerial Experience preferred.
  6. Ability to lift, push, and pull a minimum of 40 lbs. unassisted; Work in a standing position for prolonged periods of time; Walk, balance, bend, and kneel.
  7. Computer literate, ability to use basic software such as Word Office, check and send email, and satisfactorily operate a POS system.
  8. Capable of being trained in safe food handling techniques.
  9. Ability to communicate and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
  10. Capability to maintain emotional control and possess good conflict management skills.
  11. Ability to work in an environment which may include conditions such as slippery surfaces, use of chemicals, exposure to common food allergens, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.
  12. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: School Administrator, Child Nutrition Program Director

JOB GOAL: Assists in management of the Child Nutrition Program. Demonstrates excellent customer service while preparing food that is attractive and nutritious and complies with state and USDA standards, and serves meals in a
friendly and professional manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Performs work in the Child Nutrition Program in accordance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
  2. Supervises and assists with basic food preparation and proper food receiving and storage. Maintains accurate inventories and assists manager with ordering when needed.
  3. Follows recipes accurately and ensures the planned menu is being followed.
  4. Maintains a working knowledge of kitchen equipment and reports any malfunctioning equipment to the CNP Manager.
  5. Supervises the preparation of service lines for meal times and oversees item replenishment and service. Coordinates with the manager for storage and disposal of leftover foods.
  6. Provides cordial and professional service while working cooperatively with others.
  7. Displays good personal grooming and appropriate dress for food service.
  8. Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues, records, student eligibility, and school related information.
  9. Works toward and achieves Professional Development Hours in compliance with state and USDA Professional Standards in Child Nutrition requirements and attends required training.

10.Maintains confidentiality of work-related issues, records, student eligibility, and school related information.

11.Follow all verbal and written instructions. Maintains records as required by the Child Nutrition Program.

12.Maintains regular and punctual attendance.

13.Understands and complies with Cherokee County Board of Education policies and procedures.

14.Performs managerial duties in the absence of the CNP Manager.

15.Performs other job-related duties during the school day as assigned by the CNP Manager.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 182 Salary based on salary schedule as set by the

Board of Education

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of Board policy and evaluations may be performed by the School Administrator and/or Child Nutrition Program Director.

Salary Range: According to Cherokee County Schools Salary Schedule.
