Job Title: CNP MAINTENANCE/EQUIPMENT REPAIR WORKER

Supervised by/Reports to: CNP Director and consults with the Director of Facilities and Maintenance

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Job Goals:
  1. Repair and maintain all commercial kitchen equipment for the Child Nutrition Program.
  2. Maintain and repair the interior of each kitchen and cafeteria to include ceilings, lighting, electrical, basic plumbing, walls, and VCT floors and painting.


Qualifications:
  1. High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  2. Five years' experience repairing and installing commercial gas and electrical kitchen equipment.
  3. Five years' experience in maintaining the interior of a commercial building.
  4. State certification for refrigeration systems.
  5. Possess a valid Alabama driver's license.
  6. Physically able to climb ladders and equipment and able to move heavy equipment.


Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
  1. Perform preventative maintenance on all CNP commercial kitchen equipment as scheduled.
  2. Troubleshoot problems with any CNP kitchen equipment.
  3. Prioritize repairs in all CNP kitchens.
  4. Order, obtain, and install all repair parts.
  5. Maintain equipment inventory and maintenance history on all equipment.
  6. Respond to the temperature monitoring system as needed.
  7. Perform any refrigeration needs (compressors, refrigerant, vacuums, welding, soldering, coils, condensers, defrost problems, drain pans, fan motors, etc.) for reach-in coolers and freezers, walk-in coolers and freezers, blast chillers or freezers, ice cream units, ice machines, salad bar lines, etc.
  8. Perform any maintenance or repairs for heating and cooling on water heaters, gas and electrical wall heaters, window air conditioning units, wall mount units and gas boilers.
  9. Perform electrical maintenance or repairs on any equipment, outlets, connections, lighting, conduits, and circuit breakers.
  10. Perform basic plumbing on toilets, sinks, water lines, faucets, steamers, combination ovens, mop sinks, floor sinks, serving lines and drains.
  11. Move and install commercial kitchen equipment such as serving lines, milk boxes, reach-in refrigerators, convection ovens, combination ovens, steamers, kettles, tilt skillets, mixers, ice machines, microwave ovens, walk-in and freezer connections, fryers, work tables, shelving, burners, warmers, blast chillers, washers, dryers, mop sinks, water heaters.
  12. Power wash floors, walls, cafeteria tables, washable equipment.
  13. Paint walls, doors and frames, ceiling frames, windows.
  14. Repair gas leaks and gas components on equipment. Maintain regulators and systems for liquid petroleum and natural gas.
  15. Maintain equipment manuals and warranties on all equipment.
  16. Provide own basic tools.
  17. Perform other CNP repair and maintenance as required.
  18. Willing to work overtime, off-schedule and weekends in emergencies.
  19. Limestone County CNP will provide a van vehicle with fuel and insurance.
  20. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by principal and/or supervisor.


Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands to finger, to handle, or feel objects, equipment, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, bend, stoop, squat, and crouch and kneel. The employee must occasionally lift, push, pull carry and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Salary: Salary to be established by The Limestone County School's District Salary Schedule.

Terms of Employment: 240 days
