  2. High school diploma or GED preferred

Reports To: CNP Manager

Background Check Required: (Ala. Code §§ 16-22A-5) Upon offer of employment, employees will be required to submit legible fingerprints for a background review by the Alabama Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Background checks may not be more than ten (10) years old.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  1. Ability to follow and adjust a standardized recipe for school population.
  2. Ability to conduct safe, quality food production.
  3. Ability to lift up to 40lbs unassisted and capable of completing other physical activities such as: squatting, kneeling, stooping, etc.
  4. Knowledge of basic math skills to complete accurate production, recipe adjustment, time-temperature safety, inventory records, and cashier duties as assigned.
  5. Physical and emotional ability and dexterity to perform required work and move about as needed in a fast paced, highly intensive work environment

Essential Functions :
  1. Prepares and serves food in a quick and pleasant manner.
  2. Ensures that during meal service times food is replenished regularly.
  3. Completes work and cleaning assignments as directed by CNP manager.
  4. Maintains records as needed for accountability.
  5. Performs cashier duties as assigned.
  6. Maintains a proper and professional relationship with students, faculty, co-workers, and other employees and visitors.
  7. Maintains confidentiality of any school related business.
  8. Maintains an accurate inventory of all food and supplies.
  9. Performs duties in a manner that promotes good public relations.
  10. Performs other related duties as assigned by CNP manager and/or principal.

  • This position will be subject to the Students First Act of 2011. Madison City Schools reserves the right to fill this position by transfer of a qualified applicant who is already employed by Madison City Schools.
  • Under the Students First Act of 2011, no credit toward tenure or non-probationary status is earned in the initial school year of employment if the date of hire occurs after September 30.

Expected Employment: 184 days/ 6 hrs. (full year)

Evaluation: According to established Board policies and administrative procedures and guidelines.

Salary Range: According to Madison City Schools Salary Schedule (Salary based on employment for complete year).

Up to 10 years experience will be counted for new employees who provide documentation of full-time experience in the area of concentration.
