  2. Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama statutes and State Board of Education regulations.ns

Job Description/Performance Responsibilities:
  1. Perform work in the school food service facility in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
  2. Perform custodial, dish room, serving area and/or storeroom duties as assigned.
  3. Maintain high standards of sanitation and work safety.
  4. Operate and maintain food service equipment in a safe and skillful manner.
  5. Maintain an effective working relationship with the manager and other employees.
  6. Maintain building security and policing grounds.
  7. Cleaning, sweeping, dry mopping floors.
  8. Cleaning and restocking of restrooms and restroom fixtures.
  9. Cleaning classrooms and offices, vacuuming carpeted areas, dusting furniture and office machines.
  10. Cleaning of windows and window sills and removal of debris from the building(s).
  11. Responsible for buffing/burnishing, stripping and refinishing of hard surface floors.
  12. Shampooing, spotting and extracting carpet.
  13. Light bulb replacement, HVAC filter service and other project work.
  14. Performs within his/her ability, minor repairs to include but not limited to light fixture/ballast replacement and light switch repair, light window glazing, door lock and closet repairs, flush valve repair and other light plumbing.
  15. Provide emergency cleanup for spills.
  16. Responsible for reporting needs for other repairs and maintenance.
  17. Moves or assists in the moving of heavy furniture, equipment, and objects from room to room, floor to floor, and into or out of buildings.
  18. Responsible for maintaining/ordering custodial equipment and supplies and scheduling project work.
  19. Performs and/or assists in an event or special program set-ups and assists faculty and staff as time permits.
  20. Shift schedule as determined by the principal and the needs of the facility and perform other duties as assigned.
  21. Participate successfully in training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignments.
  22. Participate in cross-training activities as required.
  23. Assume other reasonable job-related duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor.
