Responsibilities

Coordinates and assists with the admissions process for College of Medicine Division of Student Affairs and Admissions. Acts as a primary point of contact for prospective students, creates processes and maintains applicant admission files and statistics, and coordinates all recruitment activities for the Office of Admissions.

Coordinates all components of applicant admission files for approximately 7,000 MD applicants and 1,500 Physician Assistant applicants yearly. This comprises preparing, processing, maintaining and finalizing admission files, and includes initial scoring of PA applications, accessing and updating a variety of data on a continuous basis from AMCAS (American Medical College Application Service) and CASPA (Central Application Service for Physician Assistants), preparing correspondence, compiling materials for review prior to interviews, maintaining data, etc.

Serves as a contact for the College of Medicine's Division of Student Affairs and Admissions and provides professional knowledge, advice, and counseling regarding admissions for the College of Medicine, Association of American Medical Colleges, American Medical College Application Service, Central Application Service for Physician Assistants, etc., as well as related Florida State University processes.

Responsible for coordinating all recruitment efforts of the Office of Admissions including, but not limited to: in-person and virtual presentations, recruitment fairs, traveling to special events, campus tours for prospective applicants with assistance from Office Associate, admissions interviews, and any other recruitment activity identified by the Division.

Collects and compiles, statistical admissions data for the Division to assist in creating reports for interested parties including, but not limited to Continuous Quality Improvement, Division of Student Affairs and Admissions, Communications, and the Executive Committee.

Performs other related duties as required to assure the efficient operation of the Division of Student Affairs and Admissions, including but not limited to: providing back-up support to staff in their absence or during peak work times and assisting staff in DSAA with all events including, but not limited to: MD Match Day, White Coat, Graduation, Orientation, and PA Orientation. Responsible for maintaining a supply of admissions materials, including driving to pick up supplies/food used to host medical school applicants.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and one year experience; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to five years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)

Valid Florida or Georgia driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to gather, interpret, report, and/or edit information.
  • Knowledge of admissions, registration and graduation requirements.
  • Knowledge of University and College of Medicine admissions processes.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions to include Zoom and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint, etc.

Anticipated Salary Range

Starting Salary: $44,057, commensurate with education/experience.
