Chipton-Ross is seeking a Comfort Lab Test Technician for a contract opportunity in Plymouth, MI.

JOB SUMMARY:
A hands-on laboratory based position that utilizes equipment, software and hardware to setup and run tests that evaluate and/or validate seating mechanisms. This position ensures that these tests are conducted safely, efficiently, correctly, and in accordance with published and/or provided specifications and requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Determine seat H-Points by executing existing test procedures using SAE J826 mannikins.
o Scan seat surfaces to create 3D Models using Faro arms / laser scanners.
o Produce pressure maps of seat cushions and backs using Xsensor pressure mats.
o Take head rest dimensional measurements per applicable regulations.
Perform a variety of safety checks and or functional checks on seat test samples.
o Conduct post-test data processing and interpretation of results.
o Completion of any necessary testing documentation which may include calibration sheets, data sheets, test reports, video files, still photos.
o Maintains safe, secure, and clean workplace by following 5S standards.
o Conduct equipment maintenance and/or repair as applicable.
o Maintain calibration records for lab equipment and instrumentation.
o Review calibration records supplied by outside calibration laboratory for lab equipment and instrumentation to ensure accuracy.
o Use Global Lab Information System (gLIMs) for test data and information. Support test report process by uploading files, loading test data and information, provide test summary and observations.
o Attend department meetings as required.
o Interface with test engineers and customers as required.
o Support test method development and/or continuous improvement projects as required.
o Handle material movement as required (i.e. fixtures, pallets, and test samples).

REQUIREMENTS:
- Test lab experience (equipment, methods, and instruments)
- Associates degree / technical degree / vocational training / Related work experience
- 3+ years' experience
- Experience measuring H-Points.
- Laser scanning using Faro arms/scanners.
- Pressure mapping using Xsensor pressure mats.

EDUCATION:
Associates Degree / technical degree / vocational training preferred, Accredited High School Diploma required. Education must be accredited.

WORK HOURS:
Day shift (7:00AM to 3:30PM)
