Summary: The Commercial Insurance Account Manager is responsible for developing strong relationships with assigned clients. This role serves as the primary contact for servicing needs and policy coverage questions. Key responsibilities include reviewing and analyzing clients' current insurance programs, offering alternative options, presenting these options to clients, and cross-selling new insurance products to both existing customers and new prospects from various sources. This is a full-time opportunity working from our Amherst, NY office. An in-office schedule is required for the first 60 days. After successfully completing training, a hybrid schedule may be considered.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a solid working knowledge of offerings, including professional liability, business owners' policies, workers compensation, and other coverage placements.
  • Independently manage daily servicing responsibilities for assigned client relationships, including renewals, summaries, binders, certificates, policies, Auto ID cards, proposals, invoicing, audits, and other insurance documents, while adhering to laws, regulations, and internal compliance.
  • Obtain non-marketed renewal quotes from existing carriers, complete renewal processes, and handle non-renewals and cancellations for cause.
  • Obtain new business quotes from carriers or via online carrier rating systems.
  • Develop and maintain close coordination and teamwork with Producers, unit team members, and others in the Commercial Lines department; participate in special projects as requested.
  • Demonstrate the standards and principles of the Five Star experience in every interaction with internal and external customers, associates, and stakeholders. Incorporate high-performance behaviors of teamwork, leading by example, and service in every facet of work.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:
  • Relevant knowledge of commercial property and casualty products, documents, procedures.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to learn new and existing company software; Working knowledge of insurance agency management systems including EPIC.
  • Able to work independently and effectively within a team environment.
  • Able to work in a demanding, fast-paced environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's Degree preferred.
  • 1+ years of Customer Service or Account Management experience in the Insurance industry required; 3+ years preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  • New York State Property/Casualty Brokers License required.
  • Specialty Area (if applicable) preferred.

The base salary range for this position is $50,000 $100,000. The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
