Commissioning Engineer

Insight Global is looking to hire a Commissioning Engineer for one of our very large manufacturing clients. This would be a 6 month contract that is looking to transfer to a full time role. This person would be traveling 100% of the time. Travel is typically 2 weeks at a time, but may occasionally be longer, and is followed by time off. While traveling, flights, food, hotel, and rental car purchases would be expensed. This candidate would be responsible for conducting high voltage electrical testing and partial diagnostics on site at various manufacturing plants. This person would also be responsible for the commissioning of high voltage gas insulated switchgears and commissioning of special switching devices (such as a phase synchronize device, camera system, etc..). Someone who has a deep understanding of electrical engineering, electrical schematics, and electrical testing, and can communicate well to customers and coworkers would be a great fit for this position!

Required Skills & Experience

Technical experience with commissioning process engineering systems in GIS systems
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or equivalent
Certificate for High voltage testing
Knowledge of GIS - pertaining to construction of electrical systems
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics
Professional training course to perform commissioning work on SFH gas insulated switchgear, or ability to obtain
Ability to communicate findings well with customers and managers
Comfortable traveling across United States in order to complete projects

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Knowledge of International standards/regulations (DIN, VDE, IEC, ASME)
International experience with commissioning and partial discharge measurement of GIS in Siemens AG projects worldwide
Certified for partial discharge measurements
Certificate for installation and commissioning of Siemens HV GIS Systems
