HDR is looking for a Commissioning Project Manager with the technical skills and desire to help support our North American Commissioning Team. This position will be based out of our Charleston, SC office. On a day-to-day basis, this individual will be expected to:
• Oversee all phases of commissioning for our clients, including design phase commissioning, factory and integrator commissioning, construction phase commissioning, acceptance testing and post acceptance commissioning
• Verify and audit that the general contractor, trade contractors, equipment vendors, and commissioning agents are in compliance with the client's construction quality and commissioning program
• Manage commissioning meetings, maintain project commissioning notes, understand how to work within deadlines and project constraint
• Drive the timely and comprehensive resolution of commissioning related issue
• Maintain communications with the client and all project stakeholder
• Conduct field inspections of MEP equipment installations, witness testing
• Travel as required, based on project assignments (< 15%)
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
• Minimum of 4 years of industry experience dealing with mechanical, electrical and controls discipline
• Must have a passion for sustainability and knowledge of the commissioning process and experience with design, installation and operation of building systems (including but not limited to: HVAC, electrical, mechanical, and controls)
• Must have a solid understanding of operational requirements, safety requirements, code inspections and maintenance consideration
• Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills and exceptional interpersonal skills ability to interact with people at all level
• Technical knowledge of MEP system
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
Preferred Qualifications
• 10 years of experience in the construction industry
• Bachelor's degree, or in lieu of a degree 15+ years of construction industry experience and/or military experience
• Previous project management or owner's representative experience
• Engineering or Construction Management degree
• LEED ® accreditation
• Commissioning accreditation
• OSHA 30 certification
• Candidates who reside locally are preferred
