The Advisory Solutions group within the Federal and Environmental Solutions Business is comprised of architects, planners and engineers providing specialty services to support our clients and projects.

As a Commissioning & Energy Specialist on our team in Houston, TX, you will participate in both onsite and office activities to support Commissioning and Energy projects. You will have the opportunity to lead and perform all commissioning related activities to include testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance), equipment and systems start-up, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations. Projects that you will engage with will include commissioning, retro-commissioning and re-commissioning as well as asset management projects. You will have the responsibility of working directly with Jacobs clients, project stakeholders, and contractors to achieve the best possible outcome for the owner/client with a focus on operational performance and efficiency.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering, Architecture or Construction Management
  • 2-3 years of experience in commissioning, design or construction management with a focus on mechanical, electrical, or building envelope systems
  • Working knowledge of building code requirements
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Ideally, You'll Also Have:
  • Industry recognized commissioning certification
  • LEED or other sustainability certification
  • Engineer-In-Training Certification
  • Industry recognized energy management certification
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical or building envelope systems
  • Understanding of the Construction process
