• About This Opportunity

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Commodity Manager, you will partner with leaders in IT and Indirect Services (including Marketing, HR, Treasury and Financial Services) to deliver improved cost and service levels. You will be responsible foracquiring, structuring, and negotiating contracts for Professional Services and Non-Employee categories such as IT and Technical Services Consulting, Temporary and Contingent Labor, and other Outsourced and Managed Services.You will be responsible for supporting Sourcing Managers and ensuring compliance with 7-Eleven sourcing policies and processes as well as 7-Eleven's Code of Conduct for ethical and legal business practices. The position will report to the Sr. Manager of Strategic Sourcing.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Lead/support supplier sourcing activities for Technology and Indirect Services, specific activities include:
• Data collection and spend analysis.
• Market Research
• The RFx process
• Proposal evaluation
• Negotiations
• Contracting
• Vendor Dispute resolution
• Continuous Process improvement
• Partner with key leaders and business stakeholders to develop effective strategiesand implementation plans to deliver consistent year-over-year cost savings and quality improvements
• Develop and implement process enhancements and best practices for the assigned categories.
• Develop and advance professional procurement talent.
• SupportLegal in key contract negotiations such as pricing, performance measures, and breach of contract remedies and termination options.
• Participate in cross-functional discussions with business managers, Legal, Risk Management, and other impacted organizations to coordinate 7-Eleven sourcing activities. Demonstrate ability to build and analyze financial models to evaluate proposal scenarios and present recommendations in a clear and concise format.

• Communicate with suppliers and internal business partners to establish and maintain credibility for the sourcing function, while increasing service to our internal business partners - improving the quality and performance levels of the supply base to achieve the optimal value to 7-Eleven.
• Create and maintain documentation, in adherence with 7-Eleven sourcing policies, to meet internal and external audit requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: Bachelor's4 Year Degree. Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Operations preferred
• 3+ years of relevant working experience required, with preferred experience in a strategic sourcing/procurement organization.
• CPM- Certified Purchasing Manager certification a plus
• Proven negotiation experience and skills required.
• Retail or IT knowledge a plus.
• A clear understanding or drive to learnsoftware & services procurement procedures. (i.e., renewal strategies, volume discounts, prorating, co-terming licenses, rate cards, MSP versus contingent).
• Ability to work well with both customers and suppliers, in a fast-paced, self-directed environment.
• Maintain strategic mindset in all aspects of the role.
• Must be a Self-directed initiator. Take ownership and need no prompting to drive productivity, change, and outcomes.
• MS Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) experience and skills required
• Oracle Purchasing and / or OtherSourcing tools is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and ability to understand legal concepts
