The Off ice of Community Assistance (OCA) is seeking to fill the position of:

Community Development Analyst

What you'll do:

The ideal candidate for the position of Community Development Analyst, a role crucial to ensuring the successful operation and compliance of state and federal programs like the Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) and Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), Percentage of Income Payment Plan Plus (PIPP Plus). In this role, you will be at the forefront of supporting community action agencies, and energy assistance providers to ensure they meet current state and federal requirements.

The primary responsibilities will include evaluating grant applications, program revisions, and program activities to ensure they adhere to regulatory standards and organizational policies. You will assist with program monitoring to gauge each agency's compliance, and capacity, and document your findings. Your insights will drive improvements, as you prepare reports and analyze program data to support recommended changes.

Candidate should also possess a robust knowledge of budgeting and state and federal programs. Proficiency in operating personal computers and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, (essential), Salesforce and OCEAN (desired). The role requires the ability to define problems, gather and analyze data, and draw valid conclusions while managing multiple variables to determine appropriate actions. Candidates must be skilled in reading and recording figures accurately, and maintaining precise records. Effective communication skills are necessary for preparing routine business correspondence and delivering speeches to specialized and general audiences. Additionally, the ability to conduct thorough research, complete forms accurately, and travel to various work sites is crucial for success in this position.

Qualifications

-36 months experience in planning, developing and/or implementing community and/or economic development programs. Must be able to provide own transportation.

-Or completion of an undergraduate core program in business administration, public administration, city and regional planning, sociology, social services or political science; 12 months experience in planning, developing and/or implementing community and/or economic development programs. Must be able to provide own transportation.

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
