Cincinnati Children's has a great opportunity on our Community Relations Team! The ideal candidate is someone that loves to write! Strong writing skills and experience creating written content for newsletters, reports, and multi-cultural print communications is required. We are seeking candidates that have experience telling a story from multiple voices with a proven writing track record.

Prior experience in multi-cultural and community communications across multiple channels (print, radio, video, and direct engagement) is required. This position will be responsible for managing our multi-cultural media, including radio, contracts. Someone that has a comfort level in talking to people, including coordinating with Marketing & Communication and external Media.

The successful candidate will be able to utilize basic graphic design skills and software programs, such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign, to create visually engaging and accessible materials for diverse audiences in alignment with Cincinnati Children's brand.

Other duties will include:

Collaborate with leadership, internal teams, and partners on communication, especially with Marketing and Communications.

Participate in communication huddles with internal stakeholder groups.

Track data and evaluate outcomes to determine effectiveness.

Competency with Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel); Project Management and Presentation Skills and Communications Software as appropriate.

Pursue professional development as needed to stay current on communications, community engagement, and other skills relevant to the position.

Planning, management & execution. Forming credible, effective, long-range strategies to attain overarching organizational objectives. Demonstrated leadership and strategic planning skills and the ability to implement projects successfully. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, work both independently and in a team environment, and work efficiently and creatively to meet deadlines. Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills as well as the ability to exercise sound judgment. Knowledge of data management methodologies.

Community Engagement: Knowledge/learn about key Cincinnati Children's communities, including those we serve and those where we have locations. May manage and coordinate employee involvement in external outreach activities on behalf of Cincinnati Children's. Effectively leverage engagement, outreach and health education activities and measure impact and effectiveness. Engage employees, internal departments, and community partners as needed to achieve goals. Ensure communications as needed to maintain optimal enthusiasm for initial and continued internal and community engagement.

Internal Programs: Manage, coordinate and lead internal and external community outreach and engagement - serve as the point of contact for the medical center's involvement in external endeavors. Coordinate meetings, luncheons and other functions as needed. Work with internal departments to coordinate and complement institutional strategies. Maintain contact and coordinate potential and current internal volunteers/participants. Work with Marketing and Communications to create marketing collateral.

Communication: Professional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills w/ an ability to develop materials for presentations to a variety of audiences both internal and external. Computer literate and competency related to Microsoft Office with emphasis on PowerPoint and Excel.

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• 3-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

Preferred:

• Community or public relations experience

• Experience taking photos with iPhone or Camera at event
