Community Relations and Alumni Affairs Manager

The Manager of Community Relations and Alumni Affairs is responsible for supporting the Community Relations staff in their role within the team's Brand & Marketing department. In addition to managing Community Relations Programs, the Manager of Community Relations and Alumni Affairs provides support to former Dallas Cowboys players, Legends, and manages the Dallas Cowboys Legends Community. The Manager of Community Relations and Alumni Affairs will report to the Sr. Director of Community Relations of Alumni Affairs and Executive Director of the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundations.

Duties/Responsibilities:

COMMUNITY RELATIONS

  • Manage implementation of specific community outreach programs fulfilling assets in corporate sponsorship contracts
  • Manage and support community programs in alignment with NFL initiatives including My Cause My Cleats, Inspire Change, Crucial Catch, Youth Football
  • Manage employees, Legends, and community partners involved in the Monthly Salvation Army Mentorship Visits
  • Manage and review donation requests on behalf of the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Foundation
  • Manage, track and fulfill foundation certificate redemption (i.e. tickets, signed items, tour requests)
  • Serve as day-to-day program lead for programming on behalf of the Gene and Jerry Jones Family Arlington Youth Foundation including the Annual Arlington ISD Back to School Kickoff and Dallas Cowboys Arlington ISD Art Program
  • Serve as the liason to community partners on behalf of the organization
  • Manage the Community Corner at Training Camp in person in both Frisco and Oxnard, CA, serving as the main contact for local organizations and handling all logistics


ALUMNI AFFAIRS

  • Manage logistics of Legend appearances both internally and externally in alignment with corporate partnerships contracts and community requests
  • Manage Legend communication and participation in the annual Season Ticket Holder and Suite Holder golf tournament


  • Manage the creation and distribution of the Legends Newsletter and/or league communication to the Legends database
  • Manage and update the Legend database and Legends Community Website
  • Serve alongside the Sr. Director of Community Relations and Alumni Affairs as the organization's point of contact for alumni


COMMUNICATIONS

  • Manage communication cross-departmentally with Corporate Partnerships, Digital Media, and Marketing to promote and amplify various community programming throughout the year
  • Contribute to overall marketing strategies by aligning Brand and Marketing goals with community programming
  • Create and distribute communication pertaining to event recaps, newsletters and community relations website content
  • Track and record all community outreach effort metrics for end of year summary report
  • Serve as the lead for the creation and project management of the Annual Community Relations Report, Media Guide Community Section and Blue Book
  • Maintain organization and storage of Community Relations photos captured at community events but internal or external photographers


ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works Cowboys Home Games, managing Alumni Appearances
  • Performs other functions and activities as directed by the Sr. Director of Community Relations and Alumni Affairs


QUALIFICATIONS

  • A bachelor's degree in communication, marketing, sport management or other related fields
  • Five (5) + years of experience in community relations/non-profit work sports or non-sports, Alumni Relations, Public Relations, Marketing or a related field preferably with an agency or a sports/entertainment brand.


  • Knowledge of NFL Causes and Initiatives and a passion for philanthropy
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft programs including but not limited to: Office, Excel, Adobe, and Teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment, offering assistance and support to team members and non-profit partners
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, while prioritizing work and meeting deadlines.
