Job Summary

DTE Energy is seeking an engaged and talented compensation professional to join our team. In this role, you will be a key member of a small team responsible for all non-represented and union employee compensation processes. Our objective is to support DTE's mission and vision by delivering innovative compensation programs to attract, retain and motivate our high-performing workforce. We utilize a total rewards approach to ensure that our combined compensation and benefits programs are positioned appropriately to the market, meet the needs of our continually evolving organization, and support both financial and non-financial performance objectives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Participates in the monitoring of competitive trends in compensation programs, including survey participation.
  • Conducts research and market analysis of compensation services.
  • Uses metrics to provide on-going analytical support and evaluate the effectiveness of compensation programs, e.g. cost/benefit analysis, efficacy metrics, etc.
  • Participates in the corporation's job evaluation/analysis program, per the coordination of activities by senior-level compensation staff, including collecting and analyzing job information to determine market rates.
  • Reviews, edits and prepares job descriptions.
  • Supports senior-level personnel in the administration and execution of various compensation processes, including incentive payments, job evaluation, annual base pay, and bonus cycles.
  • Develops, analyzes, and disseminates reports to appropriate levels within the organization.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts within the compensation and/or benefit function; including the establishment of quality/quantity standards and metrics; documenting and sharing knowledge among applicable staff in a systematic fashion.


Minimum Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and 3 years of experience in compensation design/administration or HR generalist responsibilities that entail compensation/benefit administration.


Other Qualifications

Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in business, Finance, Accounting, or an HR-related discipline.
  • Experience in compensation design/administration.


Other Requirements
  • Working knowledge of appropriate HR regulations, e.g FLSA, etc
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel.
  • Proficient verbal, written and presentation skills; communicates clearly, with credibility and confidence.
  • Analytical and problemsolving skills consistent with the ability to identify key issues from a broad range of alternatives, and recommend optimal solutions for various situations.
  • Flexibility and the ability to work with shifting priorities; embrace new/evolving responsibilities.
  • Balances multiple demands from superiors, peers and/or client parties in a positive and evenhanded fashion; displays a calm demeanor under pressure.
  • Initiates new ideas and approaches; challenges prevailing practices and approaches with reasonably sound alternatives.
  • Sound organization and planning skills.
