Position: Compensation Specialist
Location: Washington, DC
Duration: 6 Months
Description:
The Senior Compensation Specialist applies expertise in the full range of compensation issues to address complex, technical matters and to interpret and contribute to the development of compensation policy. Incumbent will work with business areas in and outside of HR to administer the Board's compensation programs. The incumbent works cohesively with other compensation professionals within a team environment and may provide guidance to team members and/or consultants. Provides assistance and input to management on relevant matters affecting the programs.
Specific responsibilities include administering compensation programs; reviewing, editing and validating job descriptions; conducting compensation research and recommending best practices; reviewing/revising compensation policies and procedures; assisting with the development and documentation of new processes; maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations. Incumbent also maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law and completes other duties as assigned.

Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
- Minimum five (5) years' experience in compensation.

- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
- Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Knowledge of employment-related laws and regulation
Preferred hours: 8:30am-5pm
Years of experience: 5 years
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
