Job Description Summary

Under the direction of the Director, Privacy Officer, the Compliance and Privacy Coordinator supports the Compliance Team in all privacy and compliance related activities to ensure adherence to South Shore Health System's (SSHS) comprehensive Compliance Program. The Compliance and Privacy Coordinator will be responsible for assisting and supporting the needs or the Compliance Department and supports projects and initiatives through the successful completion of identified essential administrative and project coordination functions. Job Description


Job Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review and send communications on behalf of Compliance Department.
  • Prepare compliance and privacy investigation intake documentation.
  • Responsible for monitoring calls and communications into the Compliance Department and triaging as appropriate.
  • Review and revise compliance policies and procedures on a periodic basis.
  • Maintain and manage files relating to compliance and privacy activities.
  • Assist with developing and reporting compliance and privacy metrics, as needed.
  • Assisting with maintaining and documenting sensitive and confidential information in accordance with applicable legal requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
  • In coordination with the Compliance Department, participates in creating, maintaining and updating the annual compliance work plan. Assists the Compliance Department in monitoring completion of department related deliverables contemplated by the work plan; communicates barriers regarding same.
  • Maintain a log of compliance and privacy investigations and reviews in accordance with department requirements.
  • Assist with promoting and facilitating communication and activities to foster compliance and privacy awareness across the Health System.
  • Assist with compiling materials for compliance and privacy education and training offerings.
  • Provide executive-level administrative support to the Vice President, Chief Compliance Officer, including but not limited to maintenance of calendar(s)/facilitation and coordination of schedules including travel arrangements as appropriate, processing of invoices and financial commitments, recording committee and board meeting minutes as appropriate, preparation of materials as directed, and general office management.
  • At the request of leadership, summarize trends and themes identified through case management, reporting and industry standards related to the Compliance Department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

Bachelor's degree or 3+ years of work experience in a health care setting with demonstrated knowledge of health care compliance and/or privacy experience (preferred).
