We are urgently hiring a Composite Technician for a local manufacturer of molds and casts for commercial buses located in Fall River, MA. The ideal candidate should have basic experience working in a composite or plastics manufacturing environment. This individual should have general experience with spray paint, fiberglass, spray paint guns, spray paint sprayers, hand painting, using grinders, sanders, buffers, cutters, power drills and hand tools.

Previous experience with assembling, construction, or auto mechanics is also helpful. Experience with autobody repairs, auto paint repairs, or body fillers is also a big plus!

Location: Fall River, MA 02721

Pay Rate: $17.50/Hour

Days: Monday - Friday

Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM

Job Duties of Composite Technician:

• Handles large plastic and composite trim parts for commercial buses.
• Performs spray painting using spray guns, paint sprayers, hand painting, or gel coating.
• Sprays fiberglass, plastics, and polyester resins.
• Operates hand lay-up process.
• Laminates parts and performs painting process.
• Sands parts to finish and smooth surfaces.
• Patches and repairs gel coat and paint.
• Buff out finished work.
• Prepare parts for painting.
• Operate power drills and hand tools.

Requirements for Composite Technician:

• Must be able to work in an industrial plastics manufacturing environment.
• Some areas of the plant will be very dusty and loud.
• Manufacturing plant will have a smell of plastic resin or paint in the production area.
• Basic experience in a composite manufacturing environment or plastics manufacturing.
• Composite Technician should have general experience with spray paint, fiberglass, spray paint guns, spray paint sprayers, hand painting, using grinders, sanders, buffers, cutters, power drills and hand tools.
• Experience with autobody repairs, auto paint repairs, autobody shop, or auto bodywork is a big plus!
• Lifting to 50 lbs.
• Must be hands-on.
• Safety shoes are required.
• The company provides all other safety supplies.
