Job Duties

Reporting to the IT Chief Architect in the IT Services administration, the Computer Center Senior Engineer position is a non-supervisory, advanced technical position supporting the Architecture Office. The DMV AO is responsible for research, integration, and implementation of tools, technologies, methods, and systems to meet strategic agency IT goals. These solutions are designed to expand or enhance delivery of DMV services directly to customers, employees, and business partners. This is accomplished by interfacing traditional information systems to the web and/or through a variety of alternative electronic channels and access devices.

The primary purpose of this position is to perform and manage ongoing security assessments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ongoing vulnerability and security scans and assisting in remediation efforts. Ongoing software and system version controls and working with System Administrators to ensure compliance with the N-1 mandate. Further, they will be responsible for managing the delivery of evidence requested in IT audits and risk assessments. They will be responsible for maintaining system security documentation.

Additionally, this position works under limited supervision as a senior level system administrator responsible for ensuring the entire life cycle of support for a variety of systems and applications. This includes, but not limited to, the support of the base host systems, documentation, third party components, off the shelf applications and coordination with users, peers and providers. The Computer Senior engineer ensures compliance with established business processes, state and agency policies and serves as a resource for less senior IT AO staff.This position requires a broad diversified background with considerable knowledge and experience in information technology, technical applications and solutions in an enterprise environment and a variety of technical environments and platforms.

Position will participate in 24x7 on call rotation.

Minimum Qualifications

•Experience performing Vulnerability scans and working with teams to remediate issues.
•Maintain System Security Documentation and drawings.
•Familiar with risk assessment processes and documentation of evidence.
•Experience in security compliance frameworks such as CIS benchmarks, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA, PII/PHI , SOX.

•Experience with Tenable.
•Experience with Microsoft Defender for Cloud.
