Job Duties

Eastern State Hospital, located in Williamsburg, Virginia, was founded in 1773, with a well-intentional emphasis on community focused mental health care. This state of the art campus, situated on 500 acres, consists of two patient care buildings with 300 patients, and a highly skilled staff of over 900. Eastern State Hospital is part of the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) system and is accredited by the Joint Commission.

This position will provide technical support to the facilities 850+ users. Support will be delivered in the areas of hardware, software applications and account management. Support will include 580+ computers, 100+ printers, 400+ iPads and mobile devices, and the creation, suspension and deprovisioning of 850+ user accounts. The purpose of this position is to provide backup leadership in the absence of the IT Director and act as liaison between Central Office and Hospital leadership in the absence of the IT Director. This position will also be the POC for the SharePoint page and updating Policies/ SOPs. Provide technical support to the site's 850+ users. Support to be delivered in areas of hardware, software applications and account management. Support includes 580+ computers, 100+ printers, 400+ iPads and mobile devices, and the creation, suspension and deprovisioning of 850+ user accounts. Maintenance of Hospital servers.

Minimum Qualifications

Demonstrate the ability to analyze and solve complex and/or unusual computer problems within deadlines and workloads. Be self- motivated, work independently or as a member of a team. Demonstrate ability to mentor and lead. Demonstrated knowledge of SharePoint and HTML coding. Demonstrate the ability to update and maintain department policies and SOPs. Demonstrated knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices, policies, and procedures helping to guide the MIS presence at Eastern State Hospital. Basic ability to apply fundamental concepts, practices, policies, and procedures to meet customer requirements and needs.

Additional Considerations

Proven expertise in development and implementation of standards, procedures, and guidelines to support operations, be self- motivated, work independently or as a member of a team, ability to occasionally work outside "normal" business hours, possess excellent English oral and written communication skills. College coursework in related field or equivalent applicable experience or training preferred.
