Duties of an Concierge Supervisor may include the following but are not limited to:
  • Daily supervision of Concierge Services staff which includes: screeners, information desk staff, student work force & volunteers assigned to the Hospital lobby, Children's Hospital lobby & Pavilion lobbies.
  • Ensure visitation and screening process runs smoothly and efficiently by maintaining good communication with the Nursing Units, Patient Access and other hospital departments.
  • Actively engage in pro-active problem solving and de-escalation of visitation issues.
  • Monitor the flow and needs of patients and visitors in the lobby and work collaboratively with the Patient Experience team to address issues.
  • Coordination and hiring of student work force and volunteers assigned to Information Desk.
  • Create staff, student & volunteer schedules ensuring coverage during all shifts.
  • Complete annual evaluations and ensure employees complete all mandatory training.
  • Develop and Conduct periodic Customer Service training and team building activities for the Concierge Services staff.
  • Order supplies.
  • Maintain department budget.
  • Analyze data and prepare reports.
  • Proficient in Microsoft word and excel, general working knowledge of computers.
  • Demonstrates professionalism, courtesy and ICARE values in all interactions with patients, visitors and staff.


Qualifications

Required: BA/BS and more than 4 years of experience as a front line manager providing quality customer service in a high volume environment. In lieu of a BA/BS, an Associates Degree with more than 6 years of experience as a front line manager providing quality customer service in a high volume environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred: Experience in a concierge or hospitality setting.

  • Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Medicine's Employee Health Services*
  • Complete electronic reference check with a minimum of three (3) professional references.
  • Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
  • Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre employment screenings.
  • Provide a copy of any required New York State license(s)/certificate(s).

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as - $75,708 - $85,313

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents SBUH's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

In addition, all UUP positions have an additional $3,400 for location,
