Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Construction Engineering Manager to be based in Orange, California .
Typical duties to be performed by the Construction Engineering Manager, but not be
limited to, the following:
- Performing and assisting in performing the duties of a Resident Engineer, including, but not limited to, roadway construction inspection, quantity calculations, checking grade and alignment, labor compliance interviews, traffic control review, and assuring compliance with project plans and specifications.
- Identifying actual and potential problems associated with the construction project.
- Work and recommend sound engineering solutions in a timely manner.
- Maintaining an awareness of safety and health requirements and assuring.
- Compliance with applicable regulations and construction contract provisions for the protection of the public and construction project personnel.
- Preparing quantity calculations, records, reports, and correspondence related to construction project activities.
- Assisting in the preparation of final As-Built plans and reports at the completion of construction.
- Performing and assisting in all aspects of required office construction engineering work including setting up and maintaining project files, processing required documents and progress payments, as necessary.
- Performing the Inspection and compliance monitoring of Storm Water Pollution.
- Prevention Plans (SWPPP)/Best Management Practices (BMP).
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- BA/BS + 8 year of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid Driver License required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional Engineering License is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering Degree, Construction Engineering, or related field from an accredited university
- Minimum of 5 years experience working on highway/transportation projects as a resident engineer
