Provides support for the Consumer Affairs Department including entering and logging all written appeals from consumers, providers, regulatory agencies etc.in the Consumer Affairs Database, uploads to imaging system, creates acknowledgement letter, and assigns to analyst. Sorts incoming work and distributes to department Management. May be called to assist in scanning all paper appeals received into CA Pending folder.

This position is full-time. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00am - 5:00pm. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

Our office is located at 300 Burnett Street Fort Worth, TX. Employees will be required to work 2 - 3 days onsite and some days from home.

We offer 2 weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted onsite.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Consistently exhibits behavior and communication skills that demonstrate commitment to superior customer service, including quality, care and concern with each and every internal and external customer
  • Maintains workflow by studying methods, implementing cost reductions, and developing reporting procedures
  • Organizes and distributes correspondence, reports, memos, etc.
  • Develops and maintains work assignments in CA databases
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed supplies, placing and expediting orders for supplies, and verifying receipt of supplies
  • Completes operational requirements by assigning expedited complaints.
  • Uses, protects, and discloses members; protected health information (PHI) only in accordance with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) standards
  • Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED OR equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience working in an office setting
  • Data Entry experience
  • Microsoft Office including Microsoft Word (create correspondence and work within templates), Microsoft Excel (ability to sort, filter, and create simple spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
  • Ability to work 2 - 3 days per week at 300 Burnett Street Fort Worth, TX.
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • Ability to work full-time between 8:00am - 5:00pm including the flexibility to work occasional overtime given the business need

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of office experience in healthcare industry

  • Reside within commutable distance of 300 Burnett Street Fort Worth, TX
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
