WebstaurantStore.com is the leading e-commerce website to meet the purchasing needs of food service professionals worldwide. WebstaurantStore, a Clark Associates company, is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented Continuous Improvement Specialist to join our dynamic team.

As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in identifying optimization opportunities, devising improvement strategies, and fostering a culture of continuous enhancement across our distribution center network. In this role, you will be expected to actively develop a clear understanding of our current workflows so that you can determine improvement priorities and best practices within our distribution centers. While not necessary to be located at a distribution center, travel to distribution center locations as determined necessary is required.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for excellence, problem-solving, be self-motivated, and possess strong analytical skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize their workload. Experience in operations, supply chain, inventory management, purchasing, or logistics is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for improvement within the distribution network and streamline processes to enhance overall efficiency
  • Develop and implement comprehensive communication plans to ensure that improvement strategies are effectively conveyed to stakeholders at all levels
  • Foster collaboration across departments to gather diverse perspectives, encourage idea exchange, and identify opportunities for process enhancement
  • Take ownership of multiple projects of varying complexity and significance, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive their successful execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between the warehouses and the Procurement department for internal supply-related matters
  • Gain a deep understanding of current workflows, processes, and systems of our distribution operations in areas such as inbound, outbound, quality, inventory control, and so on
  • Ensure that all internal supplies meet safety, quality, and compliance standards
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to internal supply management and recommend actionable improvements
  • Optimize and maintain warehouse processes that fall under Inventory Control and Expediting
  • Partner with the OSS Data Team and utilize data-driven insights to analyze performance metrics, identify trends, and pinpoint optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with the Operations Support Services Product Owner team to identify how areas of operational inefficiency may be addressed through system changes
  • Thoroughly test and vet potential project solutions. As needed, analyze and develop ROIs based off current and forecasted data
  • Facilitate project rollouts, which may require travel
  • Field any relevant email inquiries through the OSS team inbox and MS Team Channels
  • Complete other duties and ad-hoc projects as assigned


Experience/Requirements:
  • Proven experience in continuous improvement, process optimization, and change management
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends to drive decision-making
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively convey improvement strategies and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and different departments to achieve common goals
  • Ability to facilitate discussions, gather feedback, and guide teams working to identify improvement opportunities
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities effectively
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and remotely
  • Exceptional ability to motivate and influence others without reliance on positional authority
  • Experience in a high volume, fast paced environment
  • Experience in operations, supply chain, inventory management, purchasing, or logistics
  • Basic understanding of Six Sigma tools a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations Management preferred
  • Willing to travel and work within distribution centers up to 25%

Remote work qualifications
  • Access to a reliable and secure high-speed internet connection. Cable or fiber internet connections (at least 75mbps download/10mbps upload) are preferred, as satellite connections often cannot support the technologies used to perform day-to-day tasks.
  • Access to a home router and modem.
  • A dedicated home office space that is noise- and distraction-free. The space should have strong wireless connection or a wired Ethernet connection (wired connection is preferred, if possible).
  • A valid, physical address (apartment, suite, etc.). PO Boxes are not supported, as a physical address is required for you to receive your computer equipment.
  • The desire and ability to work and communicate with other team members via chat, webcam, etc.
