Essential Job Functions

As a member of the Firmwide Legal Recruiting and Development (LRD) Department, the temporary Diversity Recruiting Assistant will work with and support these efforts across the office. This position will support the Legal Recruiting team and is responsible for providing support in implementing and administering the firms overall DEI vision and initiatives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.

Assist in the Summer Associate Program, including:
  • Provide support for new and ongoing DEI and inclusion programs and initiatives
  • Collaborate with departmental leaders to efficiently research, plan, organize and execute DEI programming and projects
  • Coordinate comprehensive programs aligned with organizational goals
  • Provide administrative support and collects and report data on demographics, engagement, participation and metrics to aid in identification of areas for improvement and track progress over time
  • Ensures registrations for sponsored national and local lawyer affinity organizational conferences are submitted timely
  • Research best practices and provide updates on new trends related to legal industry

OTHER FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary)
  • Prepare and distribute department materials
  • Assist in meeting support
  • Provide event support
  • General administrative duties including filing, copying, and document preparation
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 2+ years of experience in law firm or professional services is preferred
  • Highly organized, possess excellent proofing and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Very strong attention to detail
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to build relationships among lawyers and staff to achieve results; position requires a high level of collaboration with attorneys and staff and the ability to exercise independent judgment
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and using the Internet is required
  • Working knowledge of relational databases preferred
