About this Role:
Under the general direction of the Information Technology Manager I (ITM I), the Information Technology Specialist (ITS I) serves as contracts specialist in the IT Contract Services Section (ITCSS). The responsibilities lie within the Business Technology Management and Project Management domains. The ITS I serves as a Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) contracts specialist of major IT systems and services and provides consultative and expert support on all phases of the procurement process. The ITS I independently reviews and assists in the development of highly technical and specialized IT service contracts. The ITS I independently develops solicitations, contract amendments and other related contractual documents in accordance with all state and federal requirements. This position requires extensive technical knowledge and skills related to procurement activities associated with DHCS' IT projects.

Working Conditions
This position may be eligible for telework up to three days per week and is required to report in-person and site-based a minimum of two days per week. The amount of telework is at the discretion of the Department and is subject to change consistent with DHCS' Telework Program and Government Code sections 14200 - 14203. Telework is available to California residents, and proof of residency may be required. Business travel may be required, and reimbursement considers an employee's designated office and residence subject to regulations and bargaining unit contract provisions. All commute expenses to the reporting location will be the responsibility of the selected candidate.
