Our client is looking to bring on an experienced Controller on to help take them public in the next few years. This is a highly visible role reporting directly to the CFO. This position is offered compensation commensurate with experience from $150k-$170k, plus bonus and equity. Enjoy a hybrid work schedule in Chicago, IL.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Lead the charge on accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual closings, delivering GAAP-compliant financial statements for internal and external stakeholders
• Provide insightful variance analyses to guide informed decisions by finance and senior leadership
• Partner with our FP&A team to understand what's driving our performance today and forecast future success
• Manage all cash flow like a pro, forecasting and monitoring balances while optimizing working capital processes
• As the company grows, you'll implement and maintain robust accounting processes, tools and controls to ensure efficiency
• Keep our client compliant! You'll navigate GAAP regulations and local, state and federal tax filings, staying ahead of potential changes
• Translate complex accounting concepts into clear communication for all levels of the organization
• Identify the financial implications of business decisions and share your insights with confidence
• Own relationships with key service providers, including auditors, tax advisors and banking partners
• Build a world-class accounting team! You'll hire, develop and lead a high-performing team who understands their role in the company's success

Controller Requirements:

• 10+ years of experience, ideally leading teams through high-growth environments
• A CPA certification is a must-have
• While not required, manufacturing experience is a plus
• You're a Microsoft Excel and Google Suite master, and experience with Sage Intacct is a bonus
