Position Summary:
The Controller plays a pivotal role in ensuring the integrity of accounting information by establishing quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting for Straumann North America (NAM). This position will lead the implementation of SAP S4 FICO, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with our financial systems and controls.

Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

SAP S4 FICO Implementation and Ownership:
  • Lead the planning, execution, and assessment phases of the SAP S4 FICO module implementation.
  • Customize and configure the system to align with specific financial processes and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project documentation, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Collaborate with IT and external consultants to ensure technical compatibility and data integrity.
  • Train finance staff on the new system functionalities and best practices.
Functional Responsibilities:
  • Design internal control frameworks and update procedures for regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate financial controls.
  • Oversee financial statement preparation and ensure compliance with GAAP and other standards as required.
  • Analyze reports for accuracy and liaise with auditors.
  • Record and verify daily transactions and reconcile general ledger accounts.
  • Manage receivables for timely payments and payables for invoice processing.
  • Maintain accurate financial transaction records.
  • Monitor cash flow, prepare forecasts, and manage bank reconciliations.
  • Manage closing processes, prepare journal entries, and assist with financial statements, validate accruals.
  • Analyze financial data for accuracy and provide reports to management.
  • Respond to financial inquiries with data analysis.
  • Ensure bookkeeping complies with policies and identify process improvements.
  • Support company goals through cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Communicate with stakeholders and participate in strategic planning.
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the finance team.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects and initiatives to support overall business objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Manager, Treasury
  • Manager, Accounts Receivable
  • (2) Accountants
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
  • 10+ years of accounting and financial management experience.
  • 1+ years of experience with SAP S4 FICO implementations.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPA strongly preferred.
  • Previous medical device industry expereince
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analysis tools.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
