Review automation capital projects and provide guidance to project teams to ensure equipment selected is in line with established platform standards (hardware, software revisions, documentation, drawings, etc.)Develop and maintain a backup strategy for PLCs (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.), DCS (DeltaV), HMIs, and other automation equipment in conjunction with established corporate proceduresResponsible for performance, equipment reliability, and uptime percentageDevelop, monitor, and maintain manufacturing network infrastructure (network, switches, firewalls, access points, etc.) and work with IT to establish a DMZ or other network segregation strategiesAssist with Siemens Building Management System (BMS) diagnostics and troubleshootingLead process improvement initiatives and organizational change to increase operational efficienciesWork with multi-functional teams to resolve quality problems and identify system issuesDevelop ways to improve equipment designs, upgrades, and line efficienciesProvide escalated technical process control supportEnsure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are being executedEstablish standards and manage process control utilizing Six Sigma/Lean methodologySupports safety, energy, and environmental initiativesSupports team performance and creates a culture of employee engagementProvide leadership for optimal functioning and reliability of equipment and processesKnowledge of common electrical codes/standards (NFPA 70E/497/499, NEMA, NEC, ISA 88/95, etc.)Ability to read/review/redline relevant electrical and P&ID drawings utilizing ISA symbology Responsibilities/Accountabilities:Ensure safety standards are always followed and improved on wherever and whenever possibleProfessionally and systematically guide the refinement of the preventive maintenance function on electrical systems to maximize reliabilityProvide electrical designs for assigned projects, with an emphasis on support of electrical power distribution. This engineer supports multiple sites and multiple projects concurrently. Project deliverables include electrical and project estimates, electrical equipment specifications, power distribution and grounding design review, equipment and materials purchase requisitions, electrical drawings, construction bid packages, and qualification of electrical equipment, including electrical equipment includes medium and low voltage distribution and motors/pumpsEnsure the application of NFPA/NEC regulatory standards in conjunction with MilliporeSigma local and corporate standardsDevelop good working relationships with site personnel to ensure maintenance and project objectives are met, to anticipate and resolve technical difficulties, and to minimize any disruptive effect of maintenance/ projects on productionReview/advise on creating and revising equipment standards across sites and ensuring critical spare parts are identified Who You Are:Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited school5+ years of experience in a direct manufacturing Electrical Controls Engineering role Preferred Qualifications:Professional Engineering license/ Electrical preferredChemical/pharmaceutical maintenance and/or project experience strongly preferredKnowledge of applicable NFPA (NEC) and NEMA codesWorking knowledge of GMP standardsSubstantial engineering knowledge and experience in hazardous electrical area classification, PSM design requirements, and medium/low voltage electrical systemsExperience with PLCs (Rockwell/Allen-Bradley preferred), DCS (Emerson's DeltaV preferred), and related process automation equipment such as VFDs, instrumentation, and discrete control devices is a strong plusProject Management Professional (PMP) certification preferredMember of appropriate professional body (e.g., IEEE)Self-motivated, responsible and team oriented individualFull attention to plant and related safety standards and procedure
