As part of the global controls team, you will work with highly motivated engineers, experts and innovators in the data center industry. You will be responsible for innovating, deploying and optimizing the automation systems within the data centers. Automation systems consist of building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS). Using Amazon leadership principles, you will develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space.

As a Controls Deployment Engineer you will:

• \tManage scope, and schedule of BMS and EPMS vendors during construction of AWS data centers.

• \tDevelop scope of work for site improvement projects.

• \tManage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements and navigate complex situations.

• \tReview controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to design.

• \tFinancially manage BMS and EPMS construction contracts and assist in procurement related activities including RFQs, responding to RFIs, review of vendors proposal and issuance of purchase orders.

• \tPerform comprehensive review of various BMS and EPMS submittals.

• \tParticipate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support to in-service data centers.

• \tEnsure data center BMS and EPMS system are being deployed in accordance with scope of work (SOW) and specifications.

• \tReview and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings.

• \tAttend project related meetings, coordinate with project leaders and regularly report status to Controls Management.

• \tWork under tight project timelines.

• \tInterpret controls drawings and wiring diagrams.

• \tInterpret controls bill of material (BOM).

• \tUnderstand and modify controls logic programming.

• \tUnderstand and modify graphical user interface.

• \tSupport Controls related Commissioning activities in field.

• \tFrequently visit (locally) assigned under construction data centers to supervise vendor's work to ensure compliance with the design, submittal and applicable local electrical codes (NEC etc.).

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• \tBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent engineering science plus 5 years of relevant controls experience, OR 10 years of relevant controls experience in lieu of a degree.

• \t5 years of experience with industrial controls in critical environment (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, water etc.).

• \t4 years of general project or vendor management experience (request for proposals, bidding, change orders, quality control, and RFI and submittal tracking) associated with construction and project execution.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred Qualifications

• \tM.S. in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering degrees as well as 5 years related experience

• \tSix (6) years of experience in project management/coordination (preferably in Controls domain) and/or technical management, preferably as Owner.

• \tMultiple years of experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing BMS and EPMS applications specific controllers, software's and networks.

• \tProject Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.

• \tExperience with management of change.

• \tKnowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems.

• \tProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.

• \tDemonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures.

• \tExcellent communication skills, teamwork, organizational and problem-solving skills.

• \tAbility to create complex dependency schedules.
