About ECU Health Beaufort Hospital, a campus of ECU Health Medical Center

ECU Health Beaufort Hospital serves as a campus of ECU Health Medical Center. The 142-bed full-service hospital is located in Washington and has earned national designation as a Primary Stroke Center. It is home to a 16-bed emergency department that serves approximately 25,000 patients per year, as well as the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center - a provider of leading-edge chemotherapy and radiation therapy, among other cancer services. ECU Health Beaufort also offers general medical and surgical services, operative services, a women's birthing center, rehabilitation services and outpatient clinics.

Position Summary

The cook will accurately and efficiently prepare, portion, cook and present a variety of hot and/or cold food items for various meal periods: to include Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Special/Catered events. The cook is responsible for preparing and/or directing the preparation of food to be served, complying with all applicable sanitation, health, and personal hygiene standards and following established food production programs and procedures. The cook is responsible for appropriate use of facility supplies and equipment to minimize loss, waste and fraud. The general responsibilities of the position include those listed below, but ECU Health may identify other responsibilities of the position as needed.

Minimum Requirements

Must be able to follow printed recipes and place specifications.
Ability to work a flexible schedule required.
Sufficient knowledge of modified diets required.
Must be able to working in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 9 hours).
Must comply with any dress code requirements.

Other Information

This is a PRN/as needed position - no benefits

Rotating shiftst: shifts vary from day to evening, rotating weekends
