Job Summary and Qualifications

We are looking for vacation relief cooks. Shift and days off will vary; the latest shift ends is at 8:30 p.m. The earliest shift starts at 4:00am all cook shifts are eight hours.

Job Summary: This position supports the mission of Presbyterian/St Luke's Medical Center of optimizing the quality of life of all those served by expanding beyond the traditional focus on medical needs to the needs of the whole person.

• Short order cooking for the patient tray line
• Maintain principles of proper hot and cold food production, proper service and storage of food according to HACCP Guidelines and regulatory agency standards.
• Responsible for seeing that food is prepared according to the menu; confers with the Sous Chef as to the use of leftovers; makes menu changes as necessary; maintains a high standard of food handling and cleanliness in work area.
• Attends all meetings and in-services as required
• When need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

What qualifications you will need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required.

Education: None required.

Experience: Minimum of two years Food Service experience as a cook preferred.

Special Qualifications: Must be able to use various Food Service/institutional equipment; Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English; Must show good judgment and reliability; Must show good customer service skills;Must be able to perform multiple tasks at one time
