Job Description:
  • Purpose of Job:
To oversee and perform all activities related to hot food preparation of meals for patients, cafeteria patrons and catered functions, constantly striving to improve the quality of products prepared.

II. Essential Functions:

1. Prepares meals for patients (300 per day ) , and cafeteria patrons (800 per day) and assists with food production for catered functions as necessary.

2. Uses and cleans and sanitizes equipment, utensils, the actual kitchen facility under the direction of the supervisor.

Equipment includes-tilt fryer steamers, steam kettles, ovens, warmers, mixers, slicer, buffalo chopper, food processor, fryers, grill and knives.

3. Maintains a SERVE attitude to all customers.
  • Recognizes the existence of cultural differences and utilizes appropriate resources available throughout the Hospital to respond to the needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient, family member and/or visitor.
  • Demonstrates the highest level of professionalism and ethical standards in the performance of their duties with the integrity and to comply with all applicable laws in a manner that excludes considerations of personal advantage or gain.
Job Qualifications:
Qualifications:

A. Education: High School or G.E.D. Preferred.

B. Experience: 1 year Food Service experience preferred.

C. Other Skills : Ability to read the English language.

Some computer skills required.
