Delta is expanding its wellbeing data science, data engineering and reporting capabilities while unlocking initiatives that drive improvements in the health and wellbeing of our employees, their families, and our customers.

The Delta Wellbeing Data Engineering Co-op will develop, and maintain Delta's extended dashboards, AWS data pipelines, and data platforms. This will encompass testing, developing, quality checking, and automating the data transformation and visualizations throughout the process from formation to deployment on AWS.

Students must be able to complete 3 alternating rotations in Atlanta, GA in line with the below schedule:

  • Summer 2025 - 1st rotation
  • Spring 2026 - 2nd rotation
  • Fall 2026 - 3rd rotation


In addition, this role will provide ad-hoc support for reporting and data inquiries related to wellbeing data.

Primary Functions

  • Locate and extract data from a variety of sources for use in analysis, models, and reporting
  • Maintain and continuously improve dashboards and apps based on input from key stakeholders
  • Investigate new technologies with our vendor partner(s) for future implementation
  • Identify ways to improve the UX design of new and existing reports
  • Monitoring ongoing data collection for accuracy and integrity
  • Identify and continually seek to improve data and tools available to Delta as a part of the Delta Wellbeing Measurement platform


What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)

  • 1+ years of Python, or other programming scripting languages
  • 1+ years of experience in analysis, information science, data visualization, or another relevant quantitative field
  • Functional understanding of basic and object-oriented programming concepts (loops, conditionals, variables, functions, multi-dimensional arrays)
  • 1+ years of SQL experience and an understanding of efficient query practices
  • Must be comfortable working in group and individual settings
  • Working on a Bachelor's degree ideally in Computer Science, Information Science, Business/Management, Mathematics/Statistics, or another relevant quantitative field
  • Understanding of cloud computing technologies like AWS
  • Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
  • Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
  • Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
  • Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
