Job Summary:
  • As a Crew Scheduling Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing the allocation of human resources within the organization, specifically for seagoing Hotel, Deck, and/or Engine personnel.
  • Your primary objective is to ensure that the right number of employees, with the appropriate skills, are available at the right times to meet operational needs and achieve business goals.
  • You will leverage data analysis, forecasting techniques, and workforce management tools to develop and implement efficient staffing plans.
  • This role requires close collaboration with Shipboard Workforce Planners and leadership teams both shipboard and shoreside to ensure short-term and long-term staffing needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Staffing and Scheduling: Develop and implement staffing plans that ensure optimal manning of Hotel, Deck, and Engine operations aboard vessels.
  • Ensure alignment between short-term and long-term workforce planning.
  • Work closely with shipboard and shoreside leadership teams to ensure vessels are always manned with the appropriate talent required for operations.
  • Collaborate with department management on core team schedules.
  • Utilize data analysis, forecasting techniques, and workforce management tools to create efficient staffing strategies.
  • Stay proactive in identifying and resolving any potential manning shortages.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the Crew Personnel System (CPS).
  • Collaborate with the onboarding and travel teams to ensure smooth transitions and travel arrangements for crew members.
  • Stay current with system enhancements and actively contribute to the development of new tools to optimize workforce planning efficiency.
  • Learn and utilize relevant systems to enhance scheduling processes.
  • Quickly address any manning shortages and ensure that any issues related to workforce allocation are promptly resolved.

Qualifications:
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to forecast and develop efficient staffing plans.
  • Experience in workforce management, crew scheduling, or a related field is preferred.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work closely with various stakeholders, including shipboard and shoreside leadership teams.
  • Proficiency in workforce management tools and systems, with the ability to learn new systems and contribute to process improvements.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of the maritime industry, including seagoing operations, is a plus.

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Maritime Management, or a related field preferred.
  • One year of experience in crew scheduling, workforce management, or a similar role
  • Familiarity with Crew Personnel Systems (CPS) and workforce management software
