  • Master's degree
  • Valid Teaching Certification Issued by Texas Education Agency appropriate to subject and grade level of assignment Valid Texas Teacher Certification that qualifies candidate to teach elementary ELA
  • Valid Texas ESL Certification
  • Valid Texas Mid-Management or Principal Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a classroom teacher in elementary ELA
  • Minimum of 3 years of instructional leadership at the campus or district level
  • Demonstrated knowledge of best practices related to the implementation of district initiatives
  • Demonstrated knowledge in special education law, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated knowledge in curriculum, assessment, and instruction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both orally and in writing

The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus. Attendance at conferences and professional development is required. Work involves everyday risks and discomforts which require normal safety precautions when operating equipment or performing job duties. May work prolonged or irregular hours and must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.

Additional Information
  • This position requires travel to various campuses, district meeting sites and conferences/meetings in and out of state. This position may require the employee to work some evenings and weekends.
