Job Description:

General Statement of Duties:

The purpose of this position is to administer the planning, organization, and administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, including grants, scholarships, loans, and student employment. Employees in this classification perform the administrative function of coordinating all activities within the Financial Aid Office. These responsibilities include fund management, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance with all sponsoring agencies. Provide leadership in policy development for the college community, supervise, train, and evaluate staff. Position requires the ability to interpret and analyze data, and be accountable for all decisions made. Develop equitable packaging policies, determine financial aid eligibility, file review, coordinate the dissemination of financial aid information, counsel and advise students, and record maintenance.

Responsibilities:
  • Oversees the implementation and management of all administrative functions within the Financial Aid Office
  • Run Discrepancy reports and collaborates with team to identify issues
  • Coordinates the federal financial aid programs
  • Provides Leadership and direction to financial aid counselors and administrative staff.
  • Prepares and reviews compliance, error, reconciliation, and other financial aid related reports
  • Support students applying for financial aid and processes applications
  • Assists students with financial aid awards and students loans
  • Participates in Administrative Action Team
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Education, Business, Accounting, Human Services, Sociology, or closely related field;
  • Two (2) years experience and/or training involving financial aid operations, loan processing, and computer operations; or
  • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Work hours - 9-5 M-Th, Fridays 8-4, availability to work special events and to assist in covering later hours is also required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data

Desired Qualifications:
  • Bilingual English/Spanish

**** Actual Salary determined by education, experience, and any applicable grant limitations per the collective bargaining agreement. Applicants should be aware it is unlikely the salary will be at or near the top of the range.
