Education, Training, and Experience:• Experience: Eight (8) years of full-time experience as a bus driver that requires a current Class B Driver License with passenger endorsement; current and valid California Special Driver's Certificate (DL 45) with appropriate endorsements for the transporting of passengers in grades preschool through 8• Graduation from high school or evidence of equivalent educational proficiency (G.E.D)• Supplemental classroom and in-service training in the areas of school transportationLicense/Certificates/Other:• A valid California B Driver License with a passenger endorsement is required at the time of application• Possession of a valid California Driver's License• Current California Special Driver's Certificate with appropriate endorsements for the transporting of passengers in grades preschool through 8• Current Medical Examiner's Certificate or acquire within the first 8 months of employment• Current School Bus Driver Instructor Certificate issued by California Department of Education or acquire within the first 8 months of employment• Current CPR Certification for Adult and Child or pass exam given by the Highway Patrol (may be included on the School Bus Certificate)• Current Standard First Aid Certification or pass exam given by the Highway Patrol (may be included on the School Bus Certificate)Other Qualifications:• Successfully pass drug and alcohol screening testing required by the Department of Transportation
